Cup and saucer flowers. Cottage garden favourite.

Canterbury Bells (Campanula medium) has beautifly shaped cup and saucer flowers. A great addition to any traditional cottage garden. Sturdy upright habit with bell shaped flowers makes this plant an ideal for the herbaceous border. 70-80cm.

Sow the seeds in seed compost in a seed tray on the surface and lightly cover the seeds with fine compost. Keep them moist and at a temperature of 15-20 Celsius. Sow the canterbury bell flower seed in April-May, germination can take up to 2 weeks. Alternatively the seeds can be sown outside in early summer in fine, well prepared bed. As a general rule sow your seeds as deep as the size of the seed is. Fine seeds need only light covering, and some flower seeds do need direct light to germinate successfuly.

When the seedlings large enough to handle, prick out and grow them on in cooler condition. Acclimatize them to outdoor conditions before planting out to their final position.
