Purple Carrot Seeds - Cosmic Purple Medium length roots. The smooth purple roots add an extra interest to your dish.

Carrot Cosmic Purple has beautiful roots with smooth purple coloured skin and coreless orange flesh. High sugar content makes this variety very popular with children. The coloration of the skin deepens with maturity.

Dig deep where you want to sow your carrot seeds and add plenty of organic material to the soil in the autumn and as much sand as you can afford; this will help the roots to grow long and straight!

Sow Carrot Cosmic Purple seeds thinly from March to June 1 cm deep, leaving 30-35cm between the rows.

Thin out when seedlings are 10-15cm long leaving 2-3cm between plants, depending on how big you want your carrots.

Keep watering in hot summer, water in the evening to avoid attracting carrot fly.
Delicious raw when smaller in size, great addition to any salad.

Why not try growing carrots in a container, it prevents the crop from carrot fly (especially taller containers) and by adding sand you will have long and tasty roots.
