Par Cel is a leaf celery which looks like a parsley but of course tastes like celery. Finely cut, dark leaves. Excellent in a variety of dishes, in soups and in casserols or even in a fresh summer salad.

Sow Par - Cel seeds from February to April 3mm deep in quality seed compost. Germination takes 15-21 days at 20-25 Celsius. Seal the seed tray into a polythene bag after sowing to aid germination. The seeds can be sown in small pots on the windowsill, just like any other herbs. When the seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant them 5 cm apart into bigger pots, containers. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions and plant out in June 30-35cm apart in full sun and well drained, deeply dug, rich soil. Or sow direct outside in late April - May.
