Maraichere produces small, very fizzy heads. Sow early for late spring summer production. Sow the endive seeds from March - May in moduls or direct ouside 0.5 cm deep 30 cm apart. A rich, well-drained soil is recommended. Plant out when about 10 cm after acclimatizing the plants to the outdoor conditions.
If sowing outside, thin out leaving 30 cm between the plants and you can eat the thinnings.
Can be sown thightly if you want the leaves in baby leaf salad. Plants can be harvested at the leafy stage, or left to mature until the hearts form.
