Potting on chilli seedlings

Many of the chilli seeds have germinated successfully and it was time to pot them into individual pots.

Water the seedlings well before taking them out from the seed tray or seed cell, if you sown them in good seed compost you will have no problem to separate them. Be very gentle and make sure the roots are not damaged.

Put some compost in the bottom of the pot and firm it down, then while holding the seedling, gently fill up the pot with compost and firm it down carefully. We use ordinary all-purpose compost and small about 7 cm pots.

Place the pots into a tray and water well. Grow the seedlings in the sunniest, warmest place possible at a temperature of 20 Celsius and above.
