Briza maxima is an ornamental grass, and grown for the decoative seed heads rather than for the flowers. It has thin stems and pale green heads which turn red when ripen. Very easy to grow. 40-50 cm.
Sow the quaking grass in the spring directly outside where they are to grow. Sow about 0.5 cm deep in finely raked soil. Water well, germination whithin 12 days. Thin out the seedlings leaving about 15 cm between the plants.
Great in summer arrangments or at Christmas sprayed silver or gold.
