Black Knight is a heritage sweet pea variety that was developed in 1898. The deep maroon blooms are highly scented and will attract butterflies. Makes a stunning addition to any garden.

Sow in seed compost, January-March under glass or April-May outdoors for flowers June-September. For earlier blooms, sow September-October and overwinter in a cold frame or greenhouse. To speed up germination you can soak the seeds overnight.

Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle, harden off before planting out. Pinch out the growing point in order to have stronger side shoots. Pick regularly to encourage more flowers. Prefers full sun. Requires support.
