Basil, coriander, parsley, chives can be sown any time of the year inside, use 7-10 cm pots and superior quality seed sowing compost. Place the pots in the warmest place in the house, in the airing cupboard, so that the heat will speed up germination of the herbs. Check on pots regularly and when the first seedlings appear place the pots onto the kitchen windowsill. Turn the pots around every other day so that every seedling gets enough light. This way you can have delicious herbs growing all year around. Or sow them directly outside from late spring onwards till July.
