Brachycome iberidifolia, Swan River Daisy. The blue, white and violet flowers are fragrant and grow on fragile stems to a height of 40 cm. The daisy like flowers are great in pots, tubs, hanging baskets.
Sow the swan river daisy seeds from late winter to late spring in good seed compost just covering the seed with compost. Keep soil damp but not wet, seal the seed tray in a polyethylene bag to help germination, keep at about 18-21 Celsius. Germination usually takes around 7-12 days.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant the seedlings into pots and grow on in cooler conditions. Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 8-13 days before planting out after all risk of frost, in full sun in well drained soil.
