Clapton F1 is a clubroot resistant hybrid cauliflower. Medium early variety, ready to pick in late summer. The good quality poor white curds carried high off the ground, so is kept clean easily.

Sow cauliflower seeds in quality compost in seed tray or in small pots late February - early April under glass for August - September harvest. Sow the seeds in a nursery bed outside late in April-May. Protect the seeds from slugs and pigeons.

When seedlings are large enough to handle, plant them individually, keep them inside until they have 4-6 leaves. Water regularly especially during the summer. If sown outside thin out the seedlings so the leaves do not overlap until the seedlings will go to their final position.

Plant outside, leave 50-80 cm between the plants, in well drained soil, make sure you water the plants in sunny spells, protect from birds and slugs. The pure white heads can be picked young when about a cricket ball in size. For winter harvest the plants need a spacing of 80 cm. The heads can weigh up to 1kg.
