A common meadow flower in the UK, this perennial favourite can be grown easily from seeds. The lilac flowers attract benefical insects including bees and butterflies. Also called the pincushion flower. Looks great in mixed wildflower patches or in the front border of the cottage garden. Flowers throughout the summer for a long period.

Sow the seeds in early spring under cover in a seedtray Germination will take about 2 weeks; in order to aid germination you can put the seeds in the fridge prior to sowing for about 10 days.

Plant out the seedlings in the spring in late April - May.
