The tomato plants come in a 9 cm pot, ready to repot into a bigger container or into their final position.

Tomato variety costoluto fiorentino is an exquisite mid-season Italian heirloom vine variety. Producing large ribbed, flattened quince-shaped tomatoes with vivid bright red flesh that boast their traditional Italian flavour when slow roasted or simmered down into rich sauce, its full traditional profile shines through when slow cooked for extended periods of time.

Please be aware this semi-determinant variety requires staking.

Tomatoes thrive best in warm, sunny climates with well-draining, nutrient-rich soil. As heavy feeders, tomatoes require regular fertilization. Seeds should be planted indoors 6-8 weeks prior to last frost date for transplanting outdoors after all frost danger has passed; space 18-36 inches apart along rows 3-4 feet long.

Costoluto Fiorentino tomatoes should be planted in locations with at least 8 hours of direct sunlight each day. Provide plenty of support as their tall stems produce heavy fruit trusses. As they mature, increase watering frequency while regularly applying high-potassium tomato fertilizer once or twice every week and pruning regularly to promote air circulation and prevent disease.
