Special selected stock, the plants are strong growing and uniform. Compact plants covered with tiny flowers all summer, usually grown in tubs, containers; popular as edging plant for beds and borders. Bush variety, height only 10-15 cm.

Sow the lobelia seeds from late winter throughout the spring at 18-24 Celsius in a good seed compost, into seedtray, or just sprinkle the seeds into small pots. Sow seeds on surface of compost and gently firm down compost; very fine seeds, do not need proper covering. Keep soil moist but do not overwater. Expose the seeds to light during germination, sealing in a polythene bag, or keep in a heated greenhouse after sowing. Germination usually takes 14-21 days.

When seedlings are large enough to handle, transplant in bunches of 5 - 10 and grow on in cooler conditions, in small-medium individual pots. Keep them inside until after the last chance of frost. Grow in cool, well-ventilated conditions and allow plenty of light, but shade from direct sun.Gradually acclimatise to outdoor conditions for 10-15 days before planting out 10cm  apart in a sunny spot, in light moist soil.
