Sage clary (Salvia sclarea) is a herbaceous perennial and it has been used for centuries. Today mostly grown for the essential oil. It is native to the Mediterranean, north Africa and central Asia. The leaves was used in wine and in beer making to make a more potent drink.

Sow the clary sage seeds in early spring in pots. They need a bit higher temperature to germinate so always keep the seeds inside until the seedlings appear. Later in the spring can be sown direct outside in a good soil.
